Knowledge Panel Review – Is Cashing Out Even Possible?

As you probably know, Knowledge Panel offers you an opportunity to voice your opinion and earn some money.

However, it is an “invite-only” research panel.

Getting accepted in this exclusive panel is definitely exciting at first, but if you know what’s behind the scenes, you might not be that excited after all.

One thing that caught my attention, is the fact that you have to spend months answering surveys before you can redeem your earnings.

Firstly, Knowledge Panel does not offer much surveys to work on. You can probably receive up to 6 survey offers per month, if you are lucky.

Secondly, it takes a lot of time to complete a survey (survey used to be short).

Aside from that, the cash out threshold is too high ($25 worth of points)!

Honestly, you might get a better chance of being accepted as a panelist and getting paid through PrizeRebel. Because the minimum cash out threshold is only $5 worth of points, and it accepts just about anybody to their panelist.

But like all Get Paid To (GPT) sites, you can’t really earn much from it, let alone supplementing your household income.

If you are someone who is looking to earn a full-time income from home, then I highly recommend that you check out this program.

Summary: Knowledge Panel is an online research panel under the umbrella of GfK Custom Research North America.

It was first founded by two Stanford University professors in 1999, and it is now one of the leading sources of information for TV networks, news organizations, well-respected companies, universities, etc.

Your opinion offers an opportunity to shape and influence these companies and institutions, and while voicing your opinion, you get paid.

However, it is an ‘invite only’ survey panel, and it is exclusive to the U.S. residents. Each year, Knowledge Panel randomly invites residents from a few selected addresses.

Pros

  • You get a $10 Sign Up bonus
  • Knowledge Panel will provide you with a computer and internet access if you don’t have any (that is if you are invited)
  • There are multiple ways to redeem your points

How Does Knowledge Panel Work?

Can Anyone Become a Panel Member?

As you know, the membership to KnowledgePanel is by invitation only.

GFK randomly selects addresses in the U.S. to join the KnowledgePanel.

If you are selected, an invitation (that looks like the one below) will be sent via mail containing a special code.

To accept the invitation and complete the registration, you need to enter the special code on this page.

Everyone living in the household (who are 13 years old and above) can participate on surveys.

What are the Surveys that You Can Get?

Survey topics vary from economy, politics, entertainment, sports, new products, etc..

A typical survey will take between 10-20 minutes to complete (some times longer), and it pays approximately 1,000 points which is equivalent to $1.

That is considerably low. Given that it works out to approximately $3 per hour. Not what you would have expected from this exclusive panel, right?

Plus, if you are lucky, you could receive up to 6 survey invitations per month.

Which makes your total earnings approximately $6 per month. Is it worth it? I’ll let you decide.

But, there are better survey panels out there, like the PrizeRebel.

What are the Different Redemption Options?

The points that you’ve earned can be redeemed for cash, games, gift cards, merchandise, or an entry to the sweepstakes.

You can choose to redeem items (gift cards and merchandise) as long as you’ve sufficient points for it.

However, if you want to receive cash, you’ll have to earn at least 25,000 points, which can be exchanged for a $25 cash check.

What I Like About Knowledge Panel?

#1 The $10 Sign Up Bonus

Every new member who signs up and have completed an introductory survey will receive a $10 bonus.

This $10 bonus will give you a good head start to your first pay check.

Aside from that, Knowledge Panel promises you greater rewards if you stay longer on the platform.

#2 Don’t Have an Internet Connection? NO PROBLEM!

While most survey panels out there requires you to have your own computer and internet connection, Knowledge Panel will provide them to you if you don’t have it.

And the best part is, there is no financial obligation. But, you have to stay as an active member otherwise you’ll have to return the computer.

Honestly, I think the majority of the American household already owns a computer and have internet access. It is part of our daily lives.

So, the company don’t really have to worry about the computers away.

But it is a good gesture though.

#3 Multiple Ways to Redeem Your Points

Unlike National Consumer Panel and VIP Voice, where they reward you through gift cards or sweepstakes only, Knowledge Panel offers multiple ways to redeem your points.

You can choose to redeem your points for cash check, gift cards, merchandise, etc.

#4 No Screen Out Problems

This is the biggest problem in the paid survey industry.

Have you ever tried completing an online survey that you qualify for, and 5 to 15 minutes later, you were thrown out of it.

Then, you will be given an excuse that you are “not the right person” for the survey.

This is not happening with Knowledge Panel. Because when GFK sends out the invitation to join Knowledge Panel, you are the right person for their surveys.

What I Don’t Like?

Well, as I’ve mentioned earlier, I don’t recommend that you accept the invitation by Knowledge Panel. Here are the reasons why…

Survey Offers are Scarce

Knowledge Panel doesn’t offer much surveys to its members.

You can get up to 6 survey offers per month, that is if you are lucky.

Let’s do the math shall we…

Assuming that you are lucky enough to complete 6 surveys within a month.

Each survey pays approximately 1,000 points, which is equivalent to $1.

For the entire month, you were only able to accumulate 6000 points ($6).

That adds to the $10 bonus which makes it $16 for the first month.

And on the next month, assuming everything else being constant, you still can’t cash out at $22.

My best guess is, you are only able to cash out on the third or the fourth month.

What happens after that, when you don’t have that $10 bonus any more. Just a food for thought.

The Cash Out Threshold is TOO HIGH!

25,000 points ($25) is the Cash Out Threshold, and honestly, it is too high!

Survey sites like PrizeRebel, allows you to cash out when you’ve accumulated points equivalent to $5.

Honestly, even with the $10 sign up bonus, it may still take you 3 months or more to receive your first check.

This income potential is incredibly low, as with all other Get Paid To sites!

Which is one of the main reasons why I don’t recommend GPT sites altogether.

I’d rather spend my time on building a business that I’m passionate about, that could fetch me a full-time income.

Many Members Were Not Paid

Imagine having to spend so much time and effort on the surveys, and when the time has finally come to receive your first check…

It didn’t arrive!

My Sincere Advice to You

Honestly, no harm will come to you if you are taking these surveys for fun.

But, if for some reason you are relying on Knowledge Panel to supplement your household income, it may get frustrating.

Firstly, you can’t earn much from each surveys, and you’ll probably have to spend a lot of your time completing them.

Secondly, survey offers are scarce, so you can’t binge on the surveys.

Thirdly, you can’t cash out quite as fast because the payout threshold is too high.

If you are looking for a better Get Paid To site, I would recommend PrizeRebel instead.

However, if you are serious about earning a good income online, then I highly recommend that you check out this program.

This is the program that taught thousands of individuals to become successful online. Here’s my success story with the program.
