Drink this healthy coffee everyday and you will feel more energized and healthy, that’s what an Organo Gold’s distributor would say.

Many people have complained about the coffee and claimed that it is a “dangerous” product, while some has been singing praises for the product.

What is the truth and who can you trust? Should you join its business opportunity? Is Organo Gold a scam? These are the topics that I would like to address in this Organo Gold review.

The company’s main ingredient in all of its products is “Ganoderma Lucidum”, a species of red mushrooms.

Ganoderma Lucidum, is commonly called “Reishi Mushroom”, and in the Asian countries like Singapore, it is simply called “Lingzhi”.

Ganoderma Lucidum is a common herb used in traditional Chinese medicine for hundreds of years, and it is used to treat a number of diseases such as body aches, cancer, liver, heart, and psychiatric diseases.

The “Dangerous” Claims…

However, it doesn’t mean that by drinking a cup of Ganoderma infused coffee from Organo Gold, it will treat diseases.

If you have serious health issues, I would recommend that you consult a Traditional Chinese medical (TCM) practitioner, instead of consuming the products of Organo Gold.

Many people have claimed that Organo Gold’s Coffee is a dangerous product because of its blood thinning properties.

What is Organo Gold?

Organo Gold is a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) company which was co-founded in 2008 by Bernardo Chua and Shane Morand.

There has been many speculations about the category of which the business falls into. Is it a coffee company, a tea company, or a Ganoderma company?

Almost every product that Organo Gold produce are infused with Ganoderma extract, so what do you think? It’s quite obvious, right?

Most of their products can be bought from your local supermarket or online stores like Amazon, EBay, Qoo10, etc.

You may not know it, but this is actually a bad thing for the distributors (I will discuss this in detail with you below).

On top of the tough competition between distributors, the company is in direct competition with other MLM companies like Valentus and GanoLife.

The Organo Gold Products

The company has 3 lines of products:

Beverages – There are many flavors of coffee and tea in this product line, and every product contains Ganoderma extract;
Body Management – This line of products will help you (1) improve your general well being; (2) detox your body, improve your energy, and (3) lose weight;
Personal Care – At the time of this writing, there are 2 products in this product line, the Beauty Soap, and the Toothpaste.

The Truth about Ganoderma You Must Know!

Though this guy is not a doctor or a TCM practitioner, I think he hit the nail on the side effects people feel when consuming the products of Organo Gold.

That’s probably the reason why people complained about “feeling weak” after consuming the products.

What they didn’t know is that the toxins are being released from their body.

Now, there are also claims about the blood thinning properties that makes Ganoderma a “dangerous” product.

Yes, it is true that one of the side effects of Ganoderma is blood thinning, but you must know that blood thinning is the solution to unclog your blood vessels, thus decreasing your blood pressure and improving your blood flow.

Therefore, if you have a bleeding disorder, or you are consuming anticoagulant medications (e.g. Aspirin, warfarin, heparin, or ibuprofen), you should avoid consuming the products from Organo Gold.

Either way, I hope the distributor you’ve met would inform you about this “potential risk ⁽¹⁾” before selling the product to you.

Organo Gold is not a member of the Direct Selling Association (DSA)? What gives?

In my opinion, being a member of the Direct Selling Association (DSA) don’t mean much about anything.

Herbalife, a health and wellness Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Company, is a member of the DSA and it was caught as a pyramid scheme.

Having a DSA membership only gives comfort to the consumers that the Direct Selling Company or MLM company adheres to the DSA’s code of ethics.

However, most companies use this membership as a marketing tool.

Once the membership is granted, you won’t know what the company will do with it.

It will be interesting for you to know that DSA randomly picks only 20% of its members for review every year.

Which is probably the reason why Herbalife fall through the cracks for so long.

Little do you know that other resellers are selling the product below the wholesale price.

Who would buy from you?

Even if the product price is a little more expensive at the supermarket, consumers will buy it at their convenience rather than getting it from you.

Why I think the MLM structure is redundant for Organo Gold?

In my opinion, it defeats the purpose of having a Multi-Level Marketing structure in the business.

Businesses use the MLM structure so that the distributors can promote their products through the word of mouth marketing (Direct Selling).

This can reduce the cost of advertising, shelving, logistics, and distribution for the company.

The products of an MLM company are usually sold exclusively through the distributors, and therefore the need of a distributor.

But, when the product is sold on the open market, I don’t see the need of a distributor anymore. Wouldn’t you agree?

So, why would people still join the Organo Gold’s business opportunity given the stiff competition?

Why would people still join this Business Opportunity?

Hope! That’s my best guess.

The “hope” that distributors paint, to get you to join the business opportunity.

I’m sure you have one of those meetings with a distributor and that’s why you are here.

The business opportunity is not targeted to people who wants to consume the product, however, it seems that this opportunity appeals to the people who wants to earn extra money.

Ignorance

Either that, or the people are just ignorant about the fact that such high competition exists on the market… That’s until they’ve joined the business opportunity.

However, you must know that more than 95% of the distributors of Organo Gold don’t earn a lot of money from this opportunity.

Earn a full-time income when you join Organo Gold! Have you heard that before?

If you have, that person is not telling you the truth.

Would you say that $20k a year (or $1.7k a month) qualifies as a full time income?

If yes, then 99% of the distributors didn’t reach that income level.

Wait! The figures didn’t tie up with the screenshot above right? Let me explain.

First, 86.34% of all distributors didn’t make more than $600 for that year, and most of that group didn’t earn a dime.

So, the people who earned more than $600 is 13.66%, what you see on the screenshot above are the percentages of that 13.66%, which makes up to only 0.69% of the distributors who earns more than $20k for the year. The percentage is kinda low, don’t you agree?

Why’s that the case? Coffee should sell like hotcakes, it’s the 2nd most consumed commodity in the world.

Here’s why…

Reasons Why 99% of the Distributors don’t earn a Full-Time Income

It is alarming that 99% of the distributors don’t earn enough to survive. The majority of them, didn’t earn a cent from the company.

The industry statistic shows that most MLM companies have 95% failure rate, but Organo Gold has a 99% failure rate.

This is the first time I see an above norm failure rate in an MLM company.

1. Direct Competition with the Company

This usually won’t happen in other MLM companies because the company’s products are usually sold exclusively through the distributors.

In this case, the products are sold on the open market at wholesale price, so there’s really no incentive for distributors to buy the products from the company.

Also, because of convenience sake, consumers would rather buy the products directly from the local supermarket while they are shopping for their groceries, even if the prices are a little more expensive.

2. Lack of Leads

This is probably the main problem distributors will face when they first join the business.

They are taught to write down a list of people whom they think will be interested in the Organo Gold’s products and the business opportunity.

The statistic of prospects who will join the business opportunity is most likely to be 1 to 2 percent.

That means 1 in a 100 people who come across Organo Gold will join as a distributor.

How many people do you think a distributor will need to become successful?

My guess is 3 to 5 new distributors per month.

That would mean that you’ll need to meet 300 to 500 people per month. How is that possible, right?

So, in case you are a Organo Gold distributor, and you want to learn how to get an endless stream of highly targeted leads…

I would suggest that you learn attraction marketing.

3. Lack of Leadership

To be successful in the Organo Gold business, you need to learn how to sell.

And, being a salesman is not the easiest job in the world. It takes a lot of time, energy and practice.

You’ll also need to face a ton of rejection.

However, if you don’t have a good leader who would take interest in grooming you to become a great salesperson, it is practically impossible to succeed.

A good leader would mean that one who has walked a thousand miles in your shoes, and has attained success.

Unfortunately, finding a great leader is like a needle in a haystack.

This leads me to another point…

Poor leadership = poor training

4. Lack of training and support

Because of the nature of the business, new distributors will need to rely on their sponsors to provide training and guidance.

Problem is, the majority of the sponsors are not qualified to provide training.

And, most of the time, the sponsors themselves, do not have proper training.

New distributors who didn’t know where to turn to will try all means to contact the company’s support desk, but they will find themselves hitting a roadblock as no one is responding to their needs.

Money has been invested, and the business is going nowhere, new distributors start to push the blame to the company.

That’s why you see so many people claiming that Organo Gold is a scam.

5. Poor Mentality

Coffee is the world’s second most consumed beverage and it will be an easy sell.

If that’s the mentality that got you to join the business, you’ll be in for a shock.

People hate change, I drink the same coffee every day, and it will take a lot of convincing to get me to switch brands.

So, it is not that easy selling coffee, isn’t it?

If you are one who takes rejection personally, and one who would be emotionally affected by rejection, especially from your friends and family, you shouldn’t be in this business.

Your friends will probably start to avoid you, and your family will try to talk you out of this business, and if you let this negativity affect you, you will eventually quit the business.

A successful Organo Gold distributor is one who would go against all odds to become successful.

The Compensation Plan

How much does it cost to join?

While this is not mandatory, most distributors will push you towards the Gold Package, because “it makes perfect sense”.

There’s some truth in that statement, because if you are in the long haul and if you really want to succeed, the Gold Package does make sense.

However, it would mean that you’ll need to invest $1,295 on the Gold Pack.

Yes, you may earn it back, and most distributors will say you can, but the fact is the majority don’t.

My Sincere Advice to You

If you really want to buy coffee from Organo Gold, you don’t necessarily need to buy it from a distributor, just head down to a local supermarket and you will most likely find it.

However, if you don’t want to buy Organo Gold’s coffee, but you’d still like to receive the benefits of a Ganoderma infused coffee, you can actually do it yourself.

Buy Ganoderma powder from any Chinese Medical Hall, ask them the recommended daily dose, brew your own coffee, add the Ganoderma powder, and you’ll have your self-made Ganoderma infused coffee.

This way, you can guarantee that the Ganoderma content is pure.

Don’t get me wrong, Organo Gold’s coffee is a good product, but I just didn’t think it was worth joining the business opportunity because of the many factors that I’ve shared above.

But, if you are still headstrong with the business opportunity, then I would suggest that you learn attraction marketing first. This will help increase your chance of success.
