Clickbank University 2.0 Review – A Complete Insider Walk-Through
There’s been a lot of talk about this program that I have to take a close look at it.
After reading many ClickBank University 2.0 reviews I’ve found on Google, and actually diving into the program myself, I found disparities between what I’ve experienced and what is said in those reviews.
You see, I am pretty much interested in building my own digital product, because it has been one of my biggest goal when I first started on my Internet Marketing journey.

And, I’ve acquired quite a load of knowledge in this field that I think, maybe it’s time I do something with it.
That’s why the Clickbank University 2.0 interests me.
I am not a person who joined this program for the sake of doing a review, I actually needed the information, and that’s why I went through the entire course in detail.
Before I joined the program and wrote this review, I’ve read quite a few negative reviews about the program, but I went ahead with my purchase anyway.
And, half way through the program, I realized that the claims of those negative reviews were actually false or otherwise outdated. I’ll share more about them with you below.
Also, I will give you a thorough walk through in the members’ area as well.

What is ClickBank University 2.0?
The ClickBank University or “CBU” was founded by Matt Hulett, Adam Horwitz and Justin Atlan.
The CBU 1.0 was first launched in May 2014, and within the first six months, it has generated over $1 million in sales, and that’s probably because of the successful brand name “ClickBank”.
Over the years, the first version of the University has garnered a lot of negative complaints, and now the improved version, the “ClickBank University 2.0” has relaunched in late 2016, and it is better than ever, in my opinion.

If you don’t know what ClickBank is, they are a renowned Affiliate Network where it connects affiliate marketers to digital product vendors.
Affiliate Marketers are able to earn a commission when they’ve successfully promoted the products for the vendors.
And, due to the lack of common knowledge about Affiliate Marketing and digital product creation back then in 2014, the ClickBank University was born.
It is created to teach aspiring online entrepreneurs how to build, market, and launch their digital products, as well as teaching aspiring affiliate marketers how to promote digital products and earn commissions.

False or Outdated Negative Claims about the ClickBank University 2.0
Negative Claim #1: The content in the university is drip fed

My Personal Experience
The ClickBank University advises you that it is in your best interest that the modules are drip fed to you. This way, it increases the productivity, and members will not feel overwhelmed.
However, members are also provided with an option to get an “All Access Pass” to the locked modules by just simply filling up a form:

The process is almost instant. All the training modules will be unlocked in a few seconds.
Maybe this restriction is for the first version of the program, but it is definitely not in the CBU 2.0.
Negative Claim #2: The Vendor Training is focused on promoting the “ClickBank Builder”

Here’s My Personal Experience
The claims are partly true, some of the modules probably focus on teaching you how to set up your digital product with the ClickBank Builder.
But, that’s just 2 out of the 12 modules. Moreover, the knowledge you’ll gain from the 2 modules are required (important knowledge for product creators) with or without the ClickBank Builder.
For example, on Week 8 of the Vendor course titled “Finalizing Your Product via Builder, etc.”, it does give you the impression that it is going to be about the ClickBank Builder.
But, you’ll actually learn all of the elements of the entire sales process.
It is more than just creating a “sales page” from the ClickBank Builder, you’ll actually learn the elements of a successful sales page.
That knowledge is applicable with or without the ClickBank Builder.
So overall, it is still good information to be taken away.
I guess the people writing the reviews didn’t actually go through the content before giving their opinion.

Starting from the left, you’ll have a welcome video which is about 10 minutes long.
Then, you’ll head over to the Getting Started tab.
There’s basically 3 steps to get started, (1) register for a live Q&A, (2) watch the interviews, and (3) pick a path.
Step 1: The Live Q&A
The live Q&A is not structured and it has no focus, so what happen is, members can pop any questions they have while consuming the content of the courses.
This is a great way for members to get their dire questions answered, but on the other hand, it could be confusing and ineffective.
Most of the time, low quality questions are being thrown around which makes the entire session rather tiresome.
I’d hope that there is a focus topic for each session, and additional training is provided so that low quality questions will be eliminated.
Step 2: Watch the Interviews
The second step is to watch interviews with experts in the industry. The first interview that Adam & Justin recommends is the one with Gary Vaynerchuk.
If you don’t know who he is, he is an online entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and definitely a very interesting person. You definitely should watch that 30 minute long interview.
There’s around 14 recorded interviews at the time of this writing, and I don’t recommend that you watch every single one of them when you are getting started, because it is counter productive.
After the interview with Gary Vaynerchuk, I’d recommend that you proceed with step 3.
Step 3: Pick a Path
What is your path?
Would you create your own digital product, or would you promote the products of others?
If you choose to create your own product, you should go ahead with the 12 week Vendor course, and if you choose to promote affiliate products on ClickBank, you should start with the 8 week Affiliate course.

But, I don’t recommend this program to aspiring affiliate marketers though (I’ll explain more below). For aspiring affiliate marketers, I recommend this program instead.
What can you learn from CBU 2.0?
There are 2 main courses:
- Vendor
- Affiliates
And, 3 sub-sections:
- Interviews
- Traffic
- Toolkit
Main Course #1: The “Vendor” Course
This is aimed at online entrepreneurs who aspires to create digital products to be sold online.
In my opinion, this is one of, if not the best, training program for product creators.
It dives into the nitty-gritty of a digital product creation, and of course, it introduces tools like the “ClickBank Builder” and many others to help ease the process.
This course is hosted by Justin Atlan, and it is a 12 weeks long.
Each week, there will be 3 video lessons released together with an introductory video.
By looking at the “content page” of the Vendor course, I guess you already know how valuable these lessons are.
From building your own digital products, to getting it setup, and to getting into the mindset of affiliate marketers, I would say that this is a very comprehensive course on digital product creation.
It doesn’t matter which niche you are in, this course gives you the framework for you to get started with your own product creation.
After going through the lessons in detail, I can guarantee that the content is definitely high quality, and it is absolutely worthy for any product creators.
Main Course #2: The “Affiliate” Course
This course consists of 8 weeks of content, and it is hosted by Adam Horwitz.
Being an affiliate marketer myself, I didn’t think that this is a comprehensive course about affiliate marketing.
Here’s why…
The course dives into the process of promoting affiliate products, and it recommends you to build an email list (through a squeeze page) before sending your traffic to the affiliate product page.
And, you’ll write a follow up email sequence to get people (who didn’t buy the product initially) to take a second look at the product.
While this is a good strategy, and people do need some form of “reminder” to take action, it is not complete.
Where do you get the “Traffic” in the first place? This topic wasn’t touched on in this course, but a small part of this topic can be found in the sub-section (which I will discuss in a while).
My #1 Recommended Affiliate Marketing Course
Here’s the “Content Page” of the Affiliate course:
Subsection #1: The Interviews
As I’ve mentioned above that there are 14 recorded interviews at the time of this writing, and I am sure there are more to come.
This is a good way for members to learn from the experts in the industry.
Things that are not shared in the courses could most likely be found in the interviews.
But, it will take a lot of time for you to go through all of the interviews entirely.
I recommend going through one or two interviews in a week.

Here’s what I didn’t like about the CBU 2.0.
Adam Horwitz explained in the final part of the Affiliate course that it is at the your best interest that they only share with you the traffic sources that they think is worth focusing on, instead of giving you a full list of traffic sources.
The two traffic sources that Adam recommends are “Facebook Advertisement” and “Instagram Shoutouts”.
While these are great traffic sources, I believe that there are much more to it.
What about organic traffic from Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or even a blog? These high quality traffic sources were not touched on entirely in the CBU 2.0.

Subsection #3: Toolkit
The toolkit is where you’ll get over-the-shoulder training with the recommended tools that are mentioned in the Vendor course.
The tools like Camtasia, APowersoft, Canva, Optimonk, Hootsuite, and of course the ClickBank Builder, are among the tools that they recommend.
This section is suitable for beginners who just learned about the tools, and it is a great way for beginners to kick start their journey as product creators.
How Much Does CBU 2.0 cost?
Instead of just giving you the price of CBU’s products, I’ll give you a cost layout for running your digital product on the ClickBank platform:
- ClickBank University Membership – $47 per month (Join Here)
- ClickBank Builder (Upsell) – $594 (or 2 payments of $297)
- Camtasia (Recommended Tool) – $249
- Optimonk (Recommended Tool) – $29 per month (Basic plan)
- Aweber (Recommeded Tool) – $19 per month (Basic plan)
Essentially, it cost $938 to get started with product creation, and $95 per month for maintenance.
But of course, you don’t necessarily need the ClickBank Builder to create your digital product.
If you are interested to know what the ClickBank Builder is about…
Honestly, there are many hosting platforms for product creators, not necessarily through an Affiliate Network.
However, if you want almost instant traffic to your digital product, hosting your product on an Affiliate Network is one of the best solutions.
Basically, you need a platform that allows you to create these pages so that your customers’ sales journey will be seamless:
- Sales Page
- Upsells/Downsells Pages
- Checkout Page
- Thank you Page
- Membership site
There are tools on the market that helps with this.
Companies like ClickFunnels or Kajabi, does this very well, but they are costly. ClickFunnels cost $297 per month, and Kajabi cost $129 per month for their cheapest plan.
But, of course, there are options where you can download and install WordPress plugins for membership sites, but I find that there is a lot of hassle to get things integrated with 3rd party service providers.
The ClickBank Builder used to cost $297 per year, but the newest version “the ClickBank Builder 2.0” cost $594 for a lifetime.
The benefits of the new version of the ClickBank Builder are:
- Leverage on the pool of affiliate marketers in the ClickBank Platform;
- Easy to use interface to create beautiful membership sites;
- Seamless integration with third party (like Paypal);
- Hassle free business automation (like refund request, etc);
- Cheaper than most of the tools on the market.
So, if you are interested to build your own digital products, it is worth checking out the ClickBank Builder.
Who is ClickBank University 2.0 for?
Overall, I think it is most beneficial for people who wants to learn how to create their own digital product.
CBU 2.0 is probably the most comprehensive course on the market about digital product creation.
It is definitely worth a look if you are an aspiring online entrepreneur. You can sign up to the ClickBank University 2.0 here.
But, if you are an aspiring affiliate marketer, I wouldn’t recommend the CBU 2.0, because it is not as comprehensive as I wish it could be.
There are many pieces of the puzzle that are missing from this program.
I’ll prefer that you check out Wealthy Affiliate instead because it teaches you everything about affiliate marketing. And, it is the reason I was able to generate a full-time passive income from home. Here’s my success story.

My Sincere Advice to You
Well, if you ask me, I’d say that this program is definitely worth the money if you are an aspiring online entrepreneur who strive to create your own digital product.
And, if you want me to put a price on the program, I’d say its worth $300.
But it’s not worth spending more than that though.
The courses can be completed within 2 to 4 months if you work on them every day.
Other than the weekly live Q&A, I don’t see any added value for maintaining a monthly membership.
This is based on my experience at the time of this writing (24 April 2018). Who knows if Adam Horwitz and Justin Atlan will come out with something exciting that adds value to the monthly membership in the near future.
However, if you are an aspiring affiliate marketer, this is probably not the best course for you.
Don’t get me wrong, Affiliate course in the CBU 2.0 is good, but it is not as comprehensive as the course that I recommend.
For the same price, you can actually get a lot more.
The program I recommend is also the place that is responsible for thousands of success stories online. I hope that you’ll have a chance to check it out.
